New Principal for St. John's School
We are excited to announce that St. John the Evangelist school has a new principal! Mr. John Loflin will be joining us on Monday in order to be ready for the 2019-2020 school year in just a month. Here is a note from Mr. Loflin to our community:
Hello to all parents, students, parishioners and faculty of St John the Evangelist Parish. I am John Loflin and I am the new principal of St John the Evangelist Elementary School. Having been born and raised in neighboring northeast Ohio, I come to you after almost 30 years as an educator and resident of southeast Louisiana. My academic and school experiences as a Sylvan Learning Center Director, inner-city public school teacher as well as TAP and Magnet school administrator in A+ Title l schools have provided me with many skills and attributes to serve the community at St John the Evangelist Parish as a degreed Educational Specialist and school principal. Although groomed in secular educational settings, I have patterned my vocation after the inspiration of St John Bosco who diligently served his students and faculty. Please allow me to also boast that I am a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. They are a Catholic brotherhood who place great value in their service to the Catholic community in parishes worldwide. Indeed, I see myself as an instrument of the works of mercy and wish to devote myself to helping each student reach and exceed their potential as lifelong learners and followers of Jesus Christ, the fountain of Divine Mercy.
I consider it a blessing to serve all of the stakeholders at St John the Evangelist and pray that I can serve you all exceedingly well.
Vivat Jesus, John Loflin Ed S
