Principal Light of Learning Award

“Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.” Vince Lombardi.

Mrs. Willerton shows a great example of the hard work and effort it takes to be a principal and help others. She wanted to be a principal because her principal, Sr. Pat, talked to her about becoming a principal. Her principal gave her a brochure to go to the University of Notre Dame ACE Leadership Program to pursue becoming a principal.

Mrs. Willerton was honored this year by getting the Light of Learning Award for Principals. The Light of Learning Principal’s Award is given to a principal who is nominated to get the award. I think she deserves this award because she is always showing gratitude and always trying to make our school a better place.

I asked several of the newspaper journalists from the Catholic Chronicles (our school newspaper) what they think about Mrs. Willerton and they said “She cares about people. She is funny, grateful, and supportive.” Also, they said “She is always trying to make a problem better and trying to connect with you.”

We are thankful for having her as our principal and congratulations to Mrs. Willerton on receiving this award!
